The Birthday Girl

It was so lovely to be asked to photograph Alice's birthday party after we had spent the afternoon taking some birthday portraits, how lovely to be able to look back at a book in years to come that shows the faces and friendships, to remember how you laughed and joked with friends that you may have lost touch with. The essence of capturing a party like this is not to end up with beautiful portraits of all the guests, although I did capture some lovely shots that could happily sit framed on a parents side table, it is to see those moments of connection, when friend get together and relax, fleeting glances, shared laughter and of course favorite party outfits that they can look back on in years to come and remember that yes.... those were the days
